As a property manager or property owner, you’re always on the lookout for potential issues. Identifying and resolving routine issues at your Commercial Property prevents small repairs from becoming long term headaches. The question is.. do you know how to tell if you may be having commercial electrical issues? It may not always be obvious, but we’re here to help.
We’ve put together some key indicators that you should look for, on your next walk-through:
Blown Fuses (or Circuit Breaker Issues)
If you experience blown fuses or circuit breaker issues, these are a tell-tale sign that your building may be experiencing additional electrical issues. You could be experiencing an Overloaded Circuit, a Short Circuit or even a ground fault. These are all easily diagnosed and can be quickly inspected by a Commercial Electrician.
Loose Wires and/or Loose Power Outlets
Make sure that all of your electrical wiring is property secured. Lighting, Lamps and Outlets (anything electrical) should be properly installed and secured. Improperly secured wiring can be a safety hazard and cause additional issues, but can also be a quick fix. If you see any exposed wiring, call our team to help immediately. Noticing small issues now will prevent these repairs from becoming major problems.
Buzzing Noises
Buzzing and electric, don’t mix. If you notice any abnormal noises or buzzing sounds, you may be experiencing an electrical issue. Poor connections can lead to buzzing, sparks, melting and even burning of electrical wiring. Any buzzing or abnormal noises coming from your Commercial Electrical System should be immediately reported to a Commercial Electrician to investigate immediately.
Lighting Issues – Flickering, Switches
Poor connections or improperly installed Electrical can cause lights to flicker, dim or not work completely. Seeing lights flicker or dim at a Commercial Building can be a sign that there may be an underlying issue. If you notice any fluctuation in your lighting, let us know immediately. Our Commercial Electricians can trace the issue and resolve the core issue, before it becomes a lasting problem.
Although some electrical issues at your Commercial Property may seem “routine”.. you may be missing small signs of a larger issue.
